Hi, Apex community!

We’re incredibly excited for the first LAN event of the year and can’t wait to kick off the Split 1 Playoffs from the 2nd — 5th May. FACEIT Watch, the official Multiview streaming platform for ALGS, will be covering all matches to provide all hardcore ALGS viewers with a way to simultaneously follow up to four team POVs as well as the main broadcast, dive into the intensity of live team comms, and follow how the match unfolds with a dedicated Map POV.

In today’s blog we’d like to update you about the progress we’re making so far with FACEIT Watch and how we’re addressing the feedback we’ve received from you so far during our open beta.

To provide you with a bit of background, we joined forces with EA earlier this year to step in and launch our open beta in time for ALGS Year 4 to ensure ALGS fans continue enjoying Multiview and, in the long term, develop new top-requested features to take it to the next level. At the moment, our open beta currently supports the following features prioritized based on all the feedback we’ve received from you:

  • Multiview — A more immersive and customizable viewing experience that allows you to simultaneously watch up to 4 team POVs as well as the main broadcast, helping you to easily follow and understand the strategies and movements of your favorite players. During those intense moments where everything is happening all at once, the Multiview feature will allow you to focus on the action you’re interested in.
  • Dedicated Map POV — An essential tool to follow how the match unfolds across the map and identify where fights are about to break out, where the congested side of zones are, and what teams are making plays in what area of the map.
  • Live Team Comms — Take your viewing experience to the next level by listening to your favorite team’s live comms, and tune into their passion and screams during intense moments.
  • Modern & friendly UX — FACEIT Watch has a minimalist and clean layout that is easy to understand and allows you to fully enjoy the Multiview experience
  • FACEIT Point drops — Every 6 minutes, we’ll reward 10 lucky viewers with 100 FACEIT Points each. These can be redeemed in the FACEIT Shop to purchase many physical and digital rewards, including Steam credit, which can be redeemed in the in-game store.
  • Built-in ALGS calendar — Helps you find what’s going on and when — a quick click of a button will pull up a schedule for all upcoming matches, and another click will take you straight to the action!

While these key features are already live, we want to keep building from here; from improving reliability, to adding game-changing new features. We would like to take this opportunity to also address some of the top feedback we’ve received from you in our latest customer survey and to provide you more information on how we’re addressing them:

  • ‘’Stream is laggy and it takes time to load POVs’’ — We heard you and this is currently our top priority. Since the launch of our beta in January, we’ve already made a lot of progress thanks to your feedback and are working hard to improve it even further. Rest assured our end-game goal is to deliver a premium stream experience that is reliable, high-quality, lag-free and loads quickly.
  • ‘’Are you working on new features?’’ — Yes — Let us cook! There are many new features in the pipeline that are prioritized based on the feedback we’ve been receiving from you. While there are some core Multiview features that we want to make sure are available, there are also many ideas you’ve been sharing online for the past year that we’re also considering adding in the future.
  • ‘’Why do we need to create an account to use Multiview?’’ — Just like with many features on FACEIT, you need an account to use the Multiview feature of FACEIT Watch and take full advantage of all the current features like FACEIT Drops, customizable appearance in chat and other upcoming features. Additionally, it’s a way for us to send your drop rewards directly to your account as we’ve been running FACEIT Point drops on stream, which you can redeem for various digital and physical rewards in the FACEIT Shop.

We can’t wait to share FACEIT Watch’s new open beta experience with you throughout this week’s matches, and we will be listening out for your valuable feedback to best proceed with the future of FACEIT Watch as a community-focused streaming solution.

If you have any further feedback for us to consider, please submit it in this survey here.

Thank you for reading, and see you soon!
